Cider Recipes

Cider making

Cider making is a process of making hard cider (yes it has alcohol in it!), which contains alcohol ranging from 2.5 % ABV to 13 % ABV with natural apple fragrance and tartness. The key of the cider making is the anaerobic fermentation process where wine yeast turns the sugar in apple juice into alcohol and carbon dioxide.

What you’ll need

Fruit, sugar, and yeast are essential for cider making. There are many diverse strains of yeast, while white wine yeast and Champagne yeast are usually the best choice for cider making due to the similarity between apple juice and white grape juice. If you also have raisin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove or other spices, you can also add them to flavor your cider.
