Dear Alchema family,
It’s June! Let's see what we have accomplished in the past month:
We have been doing the “mold flow analysis” for the molding process, where we review details for each molds of every components with our manufactory. This process is necessary because it will affect where the liquid will be injected and how the finished piece will get rid of the mold. We are doing this process in the order from the simplest component to the most complicated since the simpler one can be lockdown earlier and go into production faster.
Meanwhile, we finished the production of the packaging material inside the box, which will protect your Alchema on the way to you. Check out the photos below!
Focus group test
In late May, we invited some of the Bay Area early supporters to participate a focus group test in our San Francisco office. The test includes checking out the printed packaging, experiencing the Alchema process, and tasting our cider.
The main goal is to give the testers least instruction in order to observe what challenges they would encounter when they’re on their own. Providing the manual and the app, we ask them to operate the device as if they just unboxed it at home. We were pleasantly surprised to find that even though we thought the app were clear enough, the testers could interpret it in an unexpected way. In other words, we found some of the instructions were misleading and need to be improved. (which is exactly the goal of the test!)
We are so grateful that these early supporters would spend their weekend to help us find the rough edges in the current design. It feels amazing that we are creating something together! After the test, our team has sat down and discussed the solution for each issue and include them in the development plan. We will make sure there will be only satisfaction and no frustration when you start using Alchema.
That’s it for June’s update! For those Dads out there, Happy Father's Day to you!
