Tiffany was first caught by all the amazing ciders you can make with ALCHEMA. When she saw the Mead recipes, "I knew I had to get in on this." Tiffany said. Let's see what Tiffany has to share with all Alchemanians!

1. Please introduce yourself a bit to us. When did you begin your brewing journey with ALCHEMA?

Hello, my name is Tiffany and I started my journey with ALCHEMA just this past January.

When I saw the videos of all the amazing ciders you can make with ALCHEMA I was very interested in seeing what this machine could help me accomplish, but it was when I saw the Mead recipes that I knew I had to get in on this.

2. What are your favorite kinds of drinks to make with your ALCHEMA?

 Ever since I went to my first Renaissance Faire I have been hooked on Mead, the first kind I ever tried was an Egyptian style which had hibiscus in addition to the traditional honey. Right now I’m working on releasing a new recipe utilizing a hibiscus and passion fruit herbal tea, it has such a fresh new take on the Mead of my past and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!

3. Which of your recipe creations are you most proud of and why?

I really find myself being drawn to making beverages that have an herbal twist to them, I find it gives the drink such a unique flavor profile and lends itself to a changing level of sweetness. 

4. Did you use the ALCHEMA app to adjust the recipe to fit your taste? If so, how did it help you?

One of the things I appreciate most about ALCHEMA is that I can take an existing recipe and adjust it depending on my mood; in the winter time I prefer a sweeter or heavier drink so will go with a higher brix rating, but come summertime I’m ready to use the app to help me adjust to make my recipe a little drier.

5. Any advice for your fellow Alchemanians who are attempting to create their own recipes for the first time?

One of the best words of encouragement I could give any new ALCHEMA brewer is this: Experiment. You never know what you will be capable of making until you get your hands dirty!

By taking the flavors of a whiskey I particularly enjoyed and experimenting, I was able to create my recipe for Maple Lemon Thyme Mead, and I am so happy and proud to be able to have shared this recipe with all of you. With that herbal flavor profile I enjoy so much, the refreshing tart of lemon, and sweetness of a bourbon barrel aged maple syrup (any maple syrup will do though!) this recipe really checked all of my boxes for a superior beverage and I never would have found it without taking some chances!
